The Let Them Theory
by Mel Robbins
I’m a HUGE fan of Mel Robbins. So are MILLIONS of other people. This is the third Note I’ve created on one of her books, and The Let Them Theory lives up to its subtitle as “A Life-Changing Tool That Millions of People Can’t Stop Talking About.” Mel has a rare gift for distilling ancient wisdom and modern psychology into practical, unforgettable tools. The core of the book comes down to two powerful words: Let Them. If other people are doing what they do, thinking what they think, choosing what they choose, let them. Then comes the second half of the equation, and the real source of your power: Let Me. Let Me choose my response. It’s Stoicism, Radical Acceptance, and common sense wrapped into a tool you can use immediately to make your life easier and your relationships better. Big Ideas we explore include Two Powerful Words, A tool to implement wisdom, a way to unlock your power (and influence) and a love note to you from Mel and me.

The High 5 Habit
by Mel Robbins
This is Mel Robbins’ second book. We featured her first book called The 5 Second Rule which is A W E S O M E! When I saw she had written this one, I was excited to get it. It is also A W E S O M E! If you’re familiar with Mel, you know she’s one of the leading voices in personal development and transformation. She’s changed millions of lives with her books, podcast, and online courses. In fact, Mel coaches more than 60 million people online every month and videos featuring her work have more than a BILLION views, including her TEDx Talk called “How to stop screwing yourself over” which is one of the most popular of all time. One of the reasons she’s so beloved is because she’s so incredibly real. This book features the High 5 Habit for which the book is named AND a dozen other life-changing tools AND at least that many stories about her own (Heroic!) challenges and how she’s used these tools to flip the switch and create a life of deep meaning and joy. The book is packed with Big Ideas and I’m excited to share a handful of my favorites so let’s jump straight in!

The 5 Second Rule
by Mel Robbins
Mel Robbins is funny, witty and wise. Her TEDx Talk (called How to stop screwing yourself over) is one of the most popular of all time, with more than 18 million views. This book is also super popular—with over 1,000 Amazon reviews. It’s pretty awesome. Actually, the book is REALLY (!) good. In fact, Mel Robbins’ 5 Second Rule might just be one of THE most elegantly efficient Tools we can use to close the gap between who we’re CAPABLE of being and who we’re ACTUALLY being. (Seriously.) Big Ideas we explore include The 5 Second Rule (and how/when to rock it), how to win the game of life (hint: start, stay in, for the long game!), excitement + anxiety (and how they feel the same in the body), managing distractions (today a good day?), and changing your life with one moment of everyday courage.
